ABSTRACT: Early childhood education plays a vital role in developing environmental awareness, which is essential for fostering responsible and sustainable behaviors in children. This study explores how early childhood education programs influence the development of environmental awareness in young children. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's understanding of environmental issues, (2) evaluate the integration of environmental education activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's environmental behaviors and attitudes. A survey design is justified as it enables comprehensive data collection on the influence of early childhood education on environmental awareness. A purposive sample of 110 children from preschools in Ondo State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool known for its environmental education program. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's understanding of environmental issues, the effectiveness of environmental education activities, and positive changes in children's environmental behaviors and attitudes. Recommendations included integrating environmental education activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to support children's environmental awareness development.
